It's Strange

I don't know how many of you have ever been unemployed, but for those of you who have, isn't it strange to wake up on a work day and not have to go into work?

Right after I was fired, I thought "Man, it's going to be great to sleep in and not have to worry about getting to work on time."

You know what? I wake up on my own about the same freakin' time every morning. I guess my body has not gotten over the fact that we don't have to jump out of bed and head into the ole furniture store!

The other part is, well I hate to admit it, but I miss not having a job to go into! Gosh, I can't believe I said that!

I do have things to do, like go down to the unemployment offic and look for jobs, but I miss not having that routine in my life (not to mention the paycheck!)

Today after I go job hunting, I need to go somewhere and find an ipod screen protector. I kept my favorite ipod in my pants pocket and the screen got scratched either by the change in my pocket or my pocket knife. Not sure which, but now this is another thing that I have to deal with! Arrrr!

Hello...I'm Jimmy McGee...Ex Furniture Salesman!

Why am I making a blog about my past experiences as a furniture salesman? Well, it's not a blog totally about selling furniture...it's going to be little about everything.

I was recently "let-go" from my job of 3 years of selling furniture at a major furniture store. Seems I rubbed a few people the wrong way, including the owners. I seem to do that alog...rub people the wrong way.

To top that off, a week after I got fired, my girlfriend of 3 years left me. Ex furniture store salesmen don't make a lot of money when they're not selling furniture!

Anyway, over those 3 years I learned alot about the furniture business (hey, I see you, stop yawning!), customer service and about life in general. I loved selling furniture of all types. I am a furniture junky, my favorite being retro floor lamp I bought some years ago as it come in to our showroom. I just had to have that floor lamp!

I'll share some of these life lessons with you in the upcoming post! Thanks for stopping by and feel free to leave a comment, I'd appreciate it. Seems I have plenty of time on my hands now that I don't have a job!
